Yesterday, I participated in a boutique with my two daughters, Sharree and Melissa. It was held in a community near our home. I displayed my pictures, Sharree sold her beautiful hair bows and necklaces, and Melissa had her beautiful handmade cards.
An older lady came by our booth and looked at the artwork. She picked up the picture entitled 'You Are Not Alone" and read the caption on the back of it (John 14:27). She held the picture to her chest and said "I need this picture, I really need this picture. I have a friend that I need to give this too. She then proceeded to tell me how much she misses her husband, and that it is so hard to be alone. She told me that she knows that she really isn't alone, that God is with her all of the time. Sometimes it may feel like he isn't there with her, but she knows that he really is. She said that she wishes that she could just crawl right into the picture and have Jesus wrap his arms around her." It was very humbling for me to watch the effect that the picture and the scripture had on her. That made my whole day. It was worth all of the stress of getting set up and getting all of the stuff put together. My gift lifted another today. I am grateful that I am able to use my gift of drawing again. It is my hope that the drawings will continue to lift and inspire others. It was a good day today.
